An Intruder Within the Ranks

InvasionThere was an imposter within our battalion. It seemed like every move we made out in the jungle while out on patrol we were ambushed. It was like someone knew every move we were making. I was a sniper in our little squad and we came with three squads to this remote area. Our instructions were to capture the leader of this region so he could be tried for war crimes.

I had thoughts about maybe someone in this group being a trader and really didn’t want to say anything. The reason I suspected someone at first was because every night when it came down to, our time ,he was never around. The other men in our squad would hang together but he always seemed to disappear for about forty-five minutes then return like nothing ever changed.

Our commanding officer had his own tent and was set-up about forty meters from everyone else. I decided it was time to let the C.O. in on what I was thinking. Sir, I saluted him, Can I have a word with you? At ease soldier, he commanded me. Sir? I have been having questioning thoughts in my head about something. It seems like every time we go on a patrol we are attacked almost like clockwork. I feel someone in our group is contacting someone. I sense it is someone in my squad. Private! Those are strong accusations. Sir, I do not want anyone in our squad to be killed because I didn’t do something about it. I feel it is, Private Rickard, and I want to spy on him, to gather more evidence against ,if this is confirmed with you, C.O.

I was granted permission and the next time we came back from a patrol I was going to set my plan in action. I was going to follow private Rickard and find out what really was going on.

We had just returned from a patrol and was relaxing when I see private Rickard slip out off to my far right. There was a mango tree at the edge of our camp so I decided to hide behind it. I could see that he was moving further into the jungle. I kept following him and what I found totally made my mouth drop. Rickard was laying on the ground and cuddling a native woman from the Sameon Tribe. This had to be where the information was being passed about our daily recon runs. I decided to watch a little longer when I see the woman reach out and grab a walkie talkie and report something in her native tongue. What came next took me by total surprise. She reached out from the bushes and pulled out a large knife and stabbed Rickard into his heart. I could see the life coming out of Rickard in a hurry. I took out my service revolver and turned on the silencer, I took aim. The bullet hit her square between the eyes and she dropped. I could see Rickard was hanging on, barely, I came up to him. Rickard! I need to asked you a question. Have you been passing information to the Sameon Tribe? He nodded yes, then he passed right there. I came back to my commanding officer and reported what just happened.

Time went on and the ambushes were still very consistent, like nothing had changed. Someone else was working for the Sameon group and I was going to find out whom. I watched everyone with careful eyes and reported in my journal anything out of the ordinary. If I could find some inconsistencies then maybe I would follow this person around a bit more closely. I watched everyone for about three weeks and really didn’t find anything that was not normal in our operations. The one person that I hadn’t been able to watch was our commanding officer. Why didn’t I think of this earlier? I was going to figure a way to watch the C.O., Maybe this was the missing link.

I laid in the bushes next to the C.O’s. tent and was listening to his conversations with other officers by satellite phone. All of the sudden, I could hear a man speaking in Sameon dialect. It was my commanding officer. I was no expert in language and couldn’t understand what he was saying, but I could smell a rat. How was I going to take care of this rat without putting myself in jeopardy. I decided to relay this information to other members in my squad. You guy’s are my best buddies and you would do anything for any other member correct? They all responded positively. You guys, I believe our commanding officer is a rat. I overheard a confirmation via satellite phone and he was speaking in Sameon. I know he is telling the other side of our whereabout’s every night. He is going to get us all killed. The plan I have includes all of you guys to assist me in the capture of our C.O.

The look on everyone’s eyes told me that they meant business. I told everyone to have their weapons locked and loaded. We all met behind and off to the side of the C.O. tent. I was going to storm into the tent at gun point and command the C.O. to raise his hands. I ran in fast and pointed my weapon at him. The laser site was lined up between his eyes. In a moment of me commanding him, he kicked something from within his desk. I looked down real quick and spotted a grenade. I dove out the front door at the same time it exploded.

The last I remember was seeing the grin on the commanding officer’s face. A look of distrust, not one of a killer of his own men.  He was smiling, like he was happy.

It was later found out that our C.O. had made a connection with the Sameon group and lots of money, in American ,was going to be transferred into his account in the U.S.

So always watch your back and make sure to be vigilant in your surroundings. What seems like normal operation may be a cover up of something that will get you in the end. Hoorah!

Maine As I Know It

pic 1

Born and raised in the State of Maine. Most people often associate this State with Downeast Maine and the coastal region. Everyone know’s the fact we are quite famous for our lobsters and clams. There is some really great places away from the coast that people do not hear about. This State is beautiful with the country area’s as well. The northern part of the State is where a lot of crops are grown, especially Northern Maine, in the County they say. Towns like Van Buren, Houlton, Caribou, New Sweden. The central part of the State is more populated with local farmers growing crops and tending to their milking cows. pic 2

Some of the jobs that I encounter growing up include working in these farms. I picked chickens out of the barns and put them in cages to be shipped out for processing. I also worked for a big company which most of the eggs this part of the country come from. Decoster’s Egg farms. The company has been bought out since. Many of young kids in this area worked these egg farms. I also could be seen working in the local cemetery’s digging graves. We would get two dollars an hour, not bad pay for a young kid.

Maine has a huge history of papermaking. Big companies like Verso, IP, Wausau, Sappi, New Page, Boise Cascade, Champion, Bucksport, Otis Mill, Georgia Pacific. These mills employed many of people throughout history. Loggers, and many of businesses that support these companies.

Shoe shops, woolen mills also were a larger part of the community. Lewiston and its Bates Mill employed thousands. You should do a search on Bates Mill. It was amazing the size of this cooperation during the day. Many of the buildings stand today in Lewiston and are a site to witness. pic 5

Maine has many of beautiful rivers and Lakes that pass through the State. You can see many of fisherman along the banks or out in powerboats trying to catch a salmon, brook trout, browns, bass, and many other species of fish. Fly fishing is very big here. LLBean company in Freeport, Maine is one company that has supplied the outdoor enthusiast for many years. Hunting is also very big in this State. Whitetail deer are plentiful also Maine Black bear, and Moose. You have to have a permit for moose. Turkey’s are plentiful also and many of hunters take advantage of this season. pic 4

Maine also is a great place in the winter. There is many ski area’s that are very popular. Sugarloaf, Sunday River, and Saddleback Mountain are some . You really can find just about anything to do in this State if you have the time. I have lived here just about all my life and at this moment I couldn’t think of any other place I would rather live. I have traveled to my workplace many times without even meeting one car. I like the easy life and the country. Maine the way life should be. Enjoy your day everyone. pic 3

What am I doing?

moonWhat am I doing? Wind blowing in my face and the smell of tree’s. Vibrations on my feet and a roar from the rear of the machine. Blinkers never shutting off after putting them on. Balance, keep your balance, watch out for other drivers. Bugs hitting the body and face, keep your mouth closed! Protect the head, falls are mean. Five dollars to fill the machine, wow that is great.  I can go around corners with a heavy lean of the machine. Some call it therapy. Keep it on the pavement, watch out for young ones, never assume. Watch out for the critters and kids playing in the street.

Hope you know what this is. I need a day off to do some of this. Summer is getting shorter everyday now. Enjoy the day.

If

slip

Many times that I have either received injury or just tripped on something. If for the moment when walking down a sidewalk I would have noticed the not completed brick work. I stepped on the edge and completely wiped out. I hit the floor and never saw it coming. Every have a moment like that?

If for the moment when ice skating as a young man that on the edge of the ice rink was a large pine branch hanging out over the edge. I looked up but too late. I never knew that pine taste so good with chunks of teeth in it.

If for the moment when walking into a dark barn that I would have known the hole was in the hallway, larger enough for one leg to fall through. It took me down in a hurry and I fell sideways into the wall which had nails exposed. I now have permanent red scars on my shoulder.

If for the moment when as a child that sleeping in the newly constructed tree house during a heavy rain storm that it produced a major leak. I jumped back and a nail punctured my back. I remember pulling myself off the nail. I was so embarrassed that I never told anyone. The doctor asked what that scar was in my back later in life. He told me that it hit so close to where it could have killed me.

If for the moment when I jumped into a silage silo, which only looked like five or six feet,  ended up more like twelve feet. Darn that hurt. It was a wonder that I didn’t break any bones ,but it sure hurt like hell.

If for the moment when ski racing that I would of turned just a split second quicker. I clipped a racing gate and tumbled all the way down the slope to the finish line. Well almost to the finish line. I came in contact with an iron pole. It wrapped around my back. I couldn’t do anything for two weeks after that one.

I have a lot of IF”S and I’m sure many of you folks have encountered a few. I would really like to hear some. Oh, if the rock I threw would of been a few millimeters away from my friend’s head that he wouldn’t of had stitches. I went through a lot of band aids and survived but really think about if I was only an inch away things wouldn’t have happened.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. Good day.

Last Moment With You

car r

I was driving down an old country road in Aroostook County, Maine. It was a long days work and the travel home was going to take me two hours. It was starting to sprinkle out so the visibility was starting to get worse. I was kind of day dreaming when I looked off to the side of the road and saw rear lights from a car. The car was burrowed into the woods and upside down. My heart started racing, it was going to get much worse.

I stepped out of my vehicle and ran toward the car. It was very dark outside and I remembered I had a flashlight stashed into the side of the door. I turned around real quick to retrieve it when I heard a loud scream. It sounded like a young girl crying. I grabbed the flashlight and went over to the car. Inside was a young women with blood all over her face and by looking at the position she was in that she was jammed inside and just under the dashboard.

I told the young lady, or Corinth later I found out, that she was going to be ok and help was on the way. I looked down toward her legs and noticed that she had broken both legs. I could tell they were broken by the disfigurement in her legs. She was screaming for me to help her. I was almost losing it myself but knew I had to help her. I told her I had to run to my car so I could call for more help. I squeezed her hand, she responded back with a tight grip.

Talking with the dispatcher was killing me because I wanted to get right back to Corinth. I still could hear her screaming from a distance. I told the dispatcher I had to get right back to her after I told her of what injuries she had. I made my way back to the wreaked car, tripping on a piece of debris before I got there and slightly spraining my ankle.

Corinth told me she was eighteen years old and a cheerleader and in her senior year of high school. She looked at me in the eye and said, Sir? Am I going to die? My heart about melted at that point. I had no way of knowing the outcome but she had some serious injuries with loss of blood. I told her she was going to be alright. I started to hear the sirens in the distance, help was soon to be here.

The firefighters had to use the jaws of life to extricate her from the vehicle. I could see the color going out of her face, a very parlor look. They had her out of the car and onto a stretcher. I went up to Corinth and squeezed her hand one more time. She responded with a tight squeeze.

I will never forget this moment. I found out later Corinth died in the hospital from multiple trauma. I’m glad someone was there in her last moments, glad it could be me.

From this experience I quit my job and started taking classes to become a paramedic. I know I can help someone else again, Cant I?

Jazimine,Portugal Clandastine Operation

man hiding

I was targeted by a group of men that I had contact with in Jazimine, Portugal. I entered a room in the back of a clandestine lab in the business district from the alley toward the back room. Walking down the alley I was getting goose bumps. I looked up at the windows above and caught a glimpse of a man. He was hiding behind the curtain and for a moment something shined or reflected a light back toward the room. I’m thinking now that was a pistol or rifle that caught some sunshine and reflected back. I knocked on the door twice and no one answered the door. I pounded on the door again and a large size man opened the door. Who are you? I’m Robert and I’m here to get a package. I was told to arrive here at noon and to pick up a package to deliver to the airport. Ok, Come inside. The large man moved aside and I could see that he was packing a weapon to his side. I was getting very nervous about making this connection with these people. I moved toward the back of the room which reminded me of a small clothing store in the States. The air had a very funny smell, almost chemical like. I, not knowing, this was a clandestine lab. The man frisked me, checking  to see if I was carrying any guns, or hiding a wire within my jacket. Someone blindsided me and hit me in my ribs. I fell to the ground and couldn’t breath for a moment. The large man told me to get up off the ground. He was face to face with me. I’m going to tell you once minster who or whom your are. Don’t ever tell anyone about this place! I had a feeling that this was not a normal store selling clothes. The man told me to take this package and go to the airport terminal. A man will approach you with a sign that reads, Arthur Manufacturing. I was instructed to give this package to this man and board the flight going to United States.

The transfer was made and I boarded the flight. I was relaxing in my seat and kept seeing a man with a dark beard turning around and looking at me. I felt like I was being stalked for some reason. The plane landed at LAX at about noon. It looked like a lovely day and I was looking forward to being on home soil. I was walking to retrieve my luggage when I saw this man again who was watching me on the plane. I grabbed my luggage and went to the men’s room. I was sitting on the toilet when the door flung open and the man was pointing a gun at me and instructed me to put my hands up. I put my hands up, totally frightened by the sudden noise and appearance of a man. You are under arrest! I’m thinking to myself, what the heck did I do?

I was escorted to the local LAPD office within the city. Sir, What the heck did I do? I still would not get any confirmation of my wrong doing. I was finger printed and I guess booked in. I was told to put on prison clothing and they shut the gate in my cell. I was totally freaking out at this point. A man in a grey suit approached me and told me that I was being charged for the traffic of crystal meth in large quantities. The charge will put me behind bars for fifty years. My whole life to this point had been without any charges, not even a speeding ticket.

I had been behind bars now for five years when I was let out with good behavior. I walked the streets of LA and had no intentions of ever setting fourth in a prison again.  I was walking down the street looking at all the motor vehicles and looking at the beauty around me when a shot rung out, I felt a sting in my right shoulder. I spun around and then another one hit me in the chest and I fell to the ground, bouncing off the pavement. Foam was coming out of my mouth and the last moments of my life was looking into an ants eyes.

The network made sure that I was eliminated so that no other organization could get information of the clandestine operations taking place internationally. I was one man, a courier from within that network.

Stay cool everyone, not every step forward will be met with such a harsh reaction. Remember, one step for mankind. Or, for every action there is and equal and opposite reaction. All things that go up eventually come down. Good Day Everyone. I’m going to enjoy it.
